Adam
knew Eve his wife ;
and
she conceived, and bare
Cain, and said, I have gotten a man from
the
LORD
.
The
man

Yahweh's
help
. "
And
she
again bare
his
brother Abel. And
Abel was a keeper of sheep, but Cain was a tiller of the ground.
Again she
gave
birth,
to
Cain's

And
in
process
of
time it
came
to
pass
, that Cain brought of
the fruit of the ground an
offering
unto
the
LORD
.
As
time passed
, it
happened
that Cain brought an
offering
to
Yahweh
from
the fruit of the ground.
And
Abel ,
he
also brought of the firstlings
of his flock and of the fat thereof
. And
the
LORD
had
respect
unto
Abel and to
his offering :
Abel also brought some
of the firstborn
of his flock and of the fat of
it
. Yahweh
respected
Abel and his offering ,
But unto
Cain and to
his offering he
had
not
respect
. And
Cain was very wroth
, and his countenance
fell.
but he
didn't
respect
Cain and his offering. Cain was very angry
, and the
expression
on
his face
fell.
And
the
LORD
said unto
Cain, Why art
thou
wroth
? and
why is
thy
countenance
fallen?
Yahweh
said to
Cain, "
Why are
you
angry
? Why has
the
expression
of
your
face
fallen?
If thou
doest
well, shalt
thou
not be accepted
? and
if thou
doest
not
well, sin lieth
at the door. And
unto
thee
shall
be
his
desire, and
thou
shalt
rule over him
.
If you
do
well, will
it
not be lifted
up
? If you
don't
do
well, sin crouches
at the door. Its
desire is
for
you
, but
you
are
to
rule over it
. "
And
Cain talked
with
Abel his brother :
and
it came
to
pass
, when they were in the field, that Cain rose up against Abel his brother, and slew
him.
Cain said
to
Abel ,
his brother ,
"Let's
go
into
the
field."
It happened
, when they were in the field, that Cain rose up against Abel ,
his brother, and killed
him.
And
the
LORD
said unto
Cain, Where is Abel thy
brother? And
he said, I know not:
Am I my brother's keeper?
Yahweh
said to
Cain, "
Where is Abel ,
your
brother? "
He said, "
I don't
know .
Am I my brother's keeper? "
And
he
said, What hast
thou
done? the voice of thy
brother's blood crieth
unto
me from the ground.
Yahweh
said, "
What have
you
done? The voice of your
brother's blood cries
to
me from the ground.
And
now art
thou
cursed from
the earth
, which hath
opened her
mouth to receive thy
brother's blood from thy
hand ;
Now you
are
cursed because
of
the ground
, which has
opened its
mouth to receive your
brother's blood from your
hand .
When thou
tillest
the ground, it shall
not
henceforth
yield unto
thee
her
strength ;
a fugitive and a vagabond
shalt
thou
be
in the earth.
From
now
on,
when you
till
the ground, it won't
yield its
strength to
you.
You
shall
be
a fugitive and a wanderer
in the earth. "
And
Cain said unto
the
LORD
, My punishment is greater than I can bear.
Cain said to
Yahweh
, "
My punishment is greater than I can bear.
Behold, thou
hast
driven me out this day from the face
of the earth;
and
from
thy
face
shall
I be hid;
and I shall
be a fugitive and a vagabond
in the earth ;
and
it shall
come
to
pass,
that
every
one
that findeth
me shall
slay
me.
Behold, you
have
driven me out this day from the surface
of the ground.
I will
be hidden
from
your
face,
and I will
be a fugitive and a wanderer
in the earth .
It will
happen
that whoever
finds
me will
kill
me. "
And
the
LORD
said unto
him, Therefore whosoever
slayeth
Cain, vengeance shall
be taken on him sevenfold. And
the
LORD
set
a mark
upon
Cain, lest any finding him should kill
him.
Yahweh
said to
him, "
Therefore whoever
slays
Cain, vengeance will
be taken on him sevenfold. "
Yahweh
appointed
a sign
for
Cain, lest any finding him should strike
him.
And
Cain went out from the
presence of
the
LORD
, and dwelt in the land of Nod, on the east of Eden.

Jabal :
he
was the father of such
as
dwell in tents ,
and of
such
as
have cattle.

handle the harp and organ
.

Zillah ,
she
also bare
Tubalcain
, an
instructer
of every artificer
in
brass and iron :
and
the
sister of
Tubalcain
was Naamah.
Zillah also gave
birth
to
Tubal
Cain
, the
forger
of every cutting
instrument
of
brass and iron .
Tubal
Cain's
sister was Naamah.
And
Lamech said unto
his wives, Adah and Zillah, Hear my voice ;
ye
wives of Lamech, hearken
unto
my speech :
for I have slain a man to
my
wounding, and
a young man to
my
hurt
.
Lamech said to
his wives, "
Adah and Zillah, Hear my voice ,
You
wives of Lamech, listen
to
my speech ,
For I have slain a man for
wounding me
, A young man for
bruising
me
.
If Cain shall
be avenged sevenfold
, truly Lamech seventy and
sevenfold
.
If Cain will
be avenged seven
times
, Truly Lamech seventy -seven
times
. "
And
Adam knew his wife again ;
and
she bare
a son, and called
his
name
Seth :
For God
, said
she, hath
appointed me another seed
instead of Abel, whom
Cain slew
.
Adam knew his wife again .
She gave
birth
to
a son, and named
him
Seth .
For, she said
, "God
has
appointed me another child
instead of Abel, for
Cain killed
him
. "
And
to
Seth,
to
him
also
there was born a son ;
and he called
his
name
Enos:
then began
men to call upon
the
name of
the
LORD
.
There was also
born a son to
Seth,
and he named
him
Enosh.
Then men began
to call on
Yahweh's
name.
